At IHMS, we maintain a safe, respectful, and focused learning environment. Please review our standard procedures below.
Learning Resource Centre (Library)
- Loan Period: Students may check out a maximum of two items for two weeks.
- Renewals: Items must be brought back to the Resource Centre to be re-stamped with a new date.
- Replacement Costs:
- Paperback: $8.00 - $14.00
- Hardcover: $18.00 - $25.00
- DVD/VHS: $10.00 - $15.00
Technology & Internet Usage
- Gaming: Hand-held gaming devices are not permitted in school.
- Social Media: Access to Facebook, chat programs (MSN), and unauthorized streaming is strictly prohibited.
- Supervision: Students must have teacher permission before accessing any website or installing software.
Safety & Playground Rules
- Slide Safety: Students must not walk up the slide or spin others on the spinner.
- Out of Bounds: If a ball goes by the school road, students are not allowed to retrieve it; it is out of bounds.
- Emergency: Lock-down drills are conducted twice a year (Fall and Spring).
Facility Care & Maintenance
- Wall Safety: Thumb tacks are a serious safety issue; please use Sticky Tack instead.
- Equipment: Do not use the school laminator without receiving proper training/guidance.
